Why do so many guys receive oral sex when its known that they can extract incurable STDs from doing so?

You can get Herpes and other diseases from receiving unprotected oral sex, but so many guys do it anyway, and with partners whose sexual histories are far from immaculate. Are they ignorant, or immature, or is the risk so low that the possibility of it happening is insignificant. What am I missing?

They are immature, and think it won't happen to them.
I've dated guys, and I brought up how std's are dangerous, and some of them talk as if stds are no big deal and think theyre all curable.
